Mountain biking on Channel 4
Tomorrow (Sunday 30th) channel 4 are showing coverage of the Red Bull Rampage mountain bike event. It's not often that mountain biking gets on the main TV channels so if you're up early enough then it might be worth a watch to get you in the mood to brave the weather and head out on the bike.
It's on at 8:25am, look for Freesports on 4 in TV listings.

Scotland in all weathers!!
Well, my 3 days cycling around the Scotish hills has come to an end. Looks like the venue's sorted and I've cycled most, if not all, of the trails in the area. Now it's just a case of linking them all together. Unlike England, Scotland has a right to roam policy. Although this sounds great, allowing you to go where you want, it does cause problems with finding routes. Basically, if you look at a map of Scotland it doesn't show Bridleways, RUPPS etc that we use in England, so the only way to find the trails is to get out and ride them. (Had a GPS tracking my progress so I know where I went.) Cycled up loads of trails that either became unridable or dead ends, which was a little frustrating. Especially as it went from sunny - windy - rain - hail in 15 minute cycles most of today!
Just a few last things to tie up and then we'll publish booking info on the main site.
Anyway, theres should be some pictures posted here soon (I have Firewall issues!) so you can have an idea of the beauty of the area. The venue can be seen in one picture if you look closely, another shows the Beef Goulash soup from the on-site cafe and the one of my disc is not out of focus, that's steam coming off it after one humdinger of a decsent (about 800ft in 1km, straight down!!) - Dean

It's a tough job...
Although there's no Ride It! event this weekend we're not all sitting at home with our feet up. Dean's off finding routes for the Scotland event that takes place in February and sending us all little teasers like the picture below.

New Demo Fleet anounced
For our Dorking event we'll have our new Demo Fleet in place. (Well, most of it!) and there are some really exciting bikes now available to try out. The Demo process has changed in recent months with the introduction of a voucher system. Basically, you pay £25 to use the bike for the day and receive the money back in the form of a voucher to be exchanged against the purchase of ANY bike within 3 months. Breaing in mind that some of the bikes available are £3800, £25 to test them for a day doesn't sound too bad does it?
Here's some of the bikes available:-
Mountain bikes
Commencal Meta 5.5
Trek fuel Ex 8
Scott Genius 20
Specialized Stumpy FSR elite
For the Ladies:-
Specialized Myka FSR Expert
Road bikes:-
Trek Madone 5.2
Specialized Roubaix Comp
Ladies:-
Specialized Ruby Elite
Coming soon:-
Mountain - Cannondale Rize
Road - Felt AR2 (£3700!!!) - Colnago CLX ULT - Pinnarello FP3
Keep an eye on the event page, and as soon as they're built, they will be available. (Providing you can prise them off the staff that is!)

Welcome to our site
Welcome to the new Ride It! site.
Why? you may ask. Well, we thought that it'd be fun to have our own site that we could all contribute to away from the main web pages. This allows us to post up to date information really quickly without going through our head office and to have a laugh along the way!
This site will allow us to post from all the areas of the UK that we go to, giving you first-hand details of the ride conditions and (finally)....GPX files for your GPS. After events we'll be posting some feedback, stories and pictures from the weekend.
We'll also be able to update you on forth coming news. For instance the new demo fleet will be ready for Dorking and available to book soon, ex demo bikes are now available for purchase at below trade prices and Beth will be available for Sports Massage on both days at Dorking. More on these soon.
Anyway, keep an eye on the site and if you have any questions, I can be reached on the E-mail address below.
Thanks
Dean and the Ride It! team
