Liphook Sportive Route

We've been out preparing the course for Sunday's road sportive at Liphook today.

This is our second visit to Liphook after the British Gas charity ride last weekend, the general consensus from riders last weekend was it's hillier than most expected and whilst the course for this weekend is completely different I think "hillier than expected" is probably a fair description of this weekends route as well. There's no major hills that really stand out (except for one steep one on the medium route that seems to get steeper near the top) but lots of rolling coutryside so you always seem to be either going up or down.

The roads seem to be in fairly good condition although we do use some small country lanes so there are a couple of rough sections to look out for, there's also rain forecast for tomorrow so conditions may change by Sunday.

GPX downloads for the route should be posted by tomorrow evening.

Cotswolds MTB and other things

The boys are just finishing off the course for tomorrow so as soon as I get the confirmation the route is ok then the GPX routes will go up.

They haven't mentioned lots of mud so I'm assuming the trails are bone dry with just a fine layer of what the weather girl called today "Damp"

Car Parking
We have the Field behind the event centre as an over flow, This is also home to a football pitch, Cricket pitch and a children's park. Please stay off these ( they will be roped off) and try not to wheels spin!

Toilets.
With up to 5 times the amount of riders of previous years expected, we may be a bit short of loos. So my advice is, if it's 50/50 before you leave home, best go before you get in the car!

Cotswolds Sportive

We've spent the day putting out Sundays course in the Cotswolds. The route heads out from Kingswood and straight for the River Severn before looping back virtually to the start and the completion of the Short route. This loop is fairly flat with a small hill towards the end, where the medium and Long routes split off and tackle the biggest climb of the day, 400ft in 1.2miles. Both these routes then work their way through the countryside, slowly climbing over the next 20/50 miles to the highest point of the day, 810ft. From here it's all down hill into Wotton and then back to Kingswood.

The roads are generally in good condition, although we do use country lanes and some of these are a bit uneven or gravelly for short sections. Just keep an eye on the road.

Parking.

We are a bit overwhelmed with the response to this event! We did the same event 2 years ago and had 120 riders for both days, this weekend the pre-entries are at 420, so we're looking at 600 riders+ Sundays ride is at 300 so far and therefore expected turn out is 400+ I'm in the process of organising extra parking which will hopefully be on the field behind the centre, if not I have a back up field around the corner, check back here tomorrow for an update.

GPX routes will be available tomorrow afternoon/early evening.

Demo Bike Sale

As you may know, we have a demo fleet that is available to use at the Ride It events. We now have a full compliment of new bikes so it's time to dispose of the old fleet.

If you click the link below you'll open a list of the bikes available. All these bikes come with a three month part and one year frame warranty against manufacturers defects. This doesn't cover wear and tear but all bikes will be serviced and any excessively worn part replaced.

If you would like more info about a bike please mail Jon on jonathan.easingwood@evanscycles.com

He will be able to give you info and pictures of each bike. Please bear in mind that Jon works weekends so sometimes you may have to wait a couple of days for a reply. Also, the list is not necessarily current and will only be updated as bikes are sold, so these bikes are subject to availability.
