A bit of a wet and windy Saturday for the Reading mountain bike ride but still over 200 of you braved the elements to take part. The road sportive saw much better weather on the Sunday but lots of stories of multiple punctures as the riders came through the finish (I think 7 was the record!)

A quick thank-you to Dean, Mark, Jon and the rest of the Ride It! team for the Family Fun ride on Sunday. They went quite literally out of their way to make sure that the ride would be suitable for our young kids, and we had three girls fast asleep in the car on the way home! The organisation of the event seemed excellent; the hire of a demo bike for me went smoothly; and I hope all the other riders - many of whom shouted words of encouaragement to our tiring 9-year-old as they went past - enjoyed the event as much as we did.
