Just thought I'd explain the lack of a long route GPX . There isn't one. Due to the terrain we are only doing a short (16miles(ish)) and Medium (26miles) As per the road route, don't let this fool you. The Medium route is a classic loop and a slightly different route was once classified by MBR as "hard" For those in the know, we go down Jacobs ladder on the Medium! Will try and get Tony and Keith to take some photos tomorrow.

Road Ride Preperations
We've been out riding the road route today getting it ready for Sunday.
If you know the area the route heads through Berrick Salome, Britwell Salome, Nettlebed and Northend for the short route riders. The Medium route covers the same plus a visit to Hambleden, West Wycombe and Stokenchurch.
There's a few descents with gravel on the road, it's fine if you're riding single file in the car tracks but you'll want to avoid the middle of the lane.
The final descent back to Watlington doesn't have any gravel and is pretty much straight to the finish, it's easy to top 60kph without trying too hard.

Stokenchurch/Watlington Off Road Ride
We've been riding the off road course today ready for the weekend (with the change of venue remember we're now starting in Watlington rather than Stokenchurch).
The route has a bit of everything and what I think is some really enjoyable riding, it takes in parts of the Ridgeway (not so much fun) and Chiltern way (surprisingly good) as it heads down towards Nettlebed and then back up to Watlington.
If you can manage the long extension it's well worth doing, from the split you hardly need to pedal for the first mile as you ride down Devil's Hill which is nice flowing path with maybe a few roots, rocks and slippy bits to keep you on your toes :-)
Trails are fairly dry and with more dry weather forecast tomorrow it should be even better by Saturday.
Oh and there's a field with loads of poppies if that's your kind of thing.

Tent Sale
No, not a sale of tents! There is a huge tent at our Gatwick HQ overflowing with bargains galore. Sale starts this Saturday, but be aware that there were 3 hour queues to get in last year, so perhaps Sunday will be the best day.
Spotted last year:-
Rockshok SID blackbox (used) RRP about £450 - sold at £80
Trek STP soft tail frame (New) RRP £1250 - sold at £200
Klein Palamino frame (New) RRP £1200 - sold at £250
Bit of a bargain hunt!

KOTDs Winner
As you may know, on the KOTDs ride we had a timed section on the hill climb up Yorks Hill. This was set against the record for the climb which was about 1min 46secs and has stood for many years. We decided to offer some prizes as a bit of fun for riders, there was a fairly safe bike for beating the record or £500 of vouchers if you came within 1 minute.
As things turned out, the weather and an 86 mile warm up meant neither of these were reached. As a reward to all those that did carry on and do the long route, we put you ALL in a hat and pulled a name from random.
So congratulations to Mark Sutton, who has £500 of vouchers heading his way.
Cheers
